As trick-or-treaters knock on your door and beg for treats, there are things you can do to help them prevent Halloween tooth decay, and that includes giving away teeth-healthy Halloween treats.

Yes, we realize this may seem like a “party pooper” move, but many will enjoy the treats more than you may realize. Some treats we encourage you to hand out are:

• Dark chocolate
• Apples
• Toothbrushes
• Sugar-free gum
• Sugar-free lollipops
• Sugar-free candy
• Non-sticky treats
• Cereal bars
• Pretzels
• Granola bars

In addition to these treats, you can also hand out fun puzzles and games to give the children entertainment for days to come. You can also hand out bottles of water, which will help the little ghouls and witches stay hydrated during their Halloween festivities.

No matter which treats you decide to hand out to your fellow trick-or-treaters, we strongly recommend that you avoid the hard, sticky candies that cling to the teeth for a long amount of time. We also recommend that you avoid handing out sour, chewy, sticky, and sugary candies. This will help your neighbor kids maintain a healthier and stronger smile on Halloween night.

If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. We are more than happy to help you find the perfect treats for your fellow trick-or-treaters!
